The global energy transition offers great opportunities for German firms with their range of tried and tested products, infrastructure solutions, system solutions and services for a modern energy sector.

For this reason, the Federal Government is holding the Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue 2018 to bring decision-makers in energy policy and foreign policy together with representatives of business, science and civil society with a view to progressing the smart transformation of the global energy system. An open debate will highlight successful approaches to the energy transition and present specific solutions which are proving their worth in practice.

At the invitation of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy and of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany, ministers and high-level delegations from all around the world will come together with representatives of business and civil society to develop strategies for a smart transformation of the energy system, the transport sector and heat supply. In total, some 2,000 guests from more than 90 countries are expected.

Once again this year, six outstanding international start-ups and their innovative business models to combat climate change will be chosen from 18 finalists and awarded prizes for their work.
