In its 16th report on exports of military equipment, which covers the year 2014, the Federal Government provides the Bundestag and the public with a comprehensive picture of German policy on the export of military equipment. This report furnishes information about the licences issued for the export of military equipment and the actual exports of war weapons in the reference year. It underlines the restrictive nature of the export control policy exercised by this Federal Government: in 2014, the total value of licences for the export of military equipment dropped considerably in year-on-year terms - by approx. €1.8 billion. In comparison to €5.84 billion in 2013, the value of single-transaction export licences for military equipment amounted to only €3.97 billion.
