Workers at a plant stand for new orders in the manufacturing sector

According to the Federal Statistical Office [1], new manufacturing orders fell between October and November by 1.3%. [2] Domestic orders rose by 1.6% while orders from the eurozone and the non-eurozone declined by 3.3% and 2.8% respectively. Excluding large orders, new manufacturing orders rose by 1.0%.

In the two-month comparison of October/November versus August/September, new manufacturing orders increased slightly, up 0.1%.

The development of new orders have stabilised at a low level in the last few months. At the same time, the business expectations in the manufacturing industry have also brightened somwhat. The outlook for industrial activity has improved slightly.
