Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier today met with Peter Adrian, the new President of the Association of German Chambers of Commerce and Industry (DIHK), for a first virtual discussion. Mr Adrian has been elected to succeed Dr Eric Schweitzer, who had held the office for eight years.

Economic Affairs Minister Altmaier said: “I warmly congratulate Peter Adrian on his new post and wish him every success in his office. A strong umbrella association is all the more important in the current coronavirus crisis – and this is certainly true of the DIHK, which unites 79 chambers of commerce and industry under its roof. I look forward to continuing our conversation and wish Mr Adrian a good start in his new office.”
