Germany and Ukraine intensify energy policy exchange at 1st German-Ukrainian Energy Day

As part of the German-Ukrainian Energy Partnership, the first German-Ukrainian Energy Day will be held online today and tomorrow. In view of the broad range of topics to be discussed, the meeting will take place over two days.

Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier said: "Today's first German-Ukrainian Energy Day is another important step in intensifying our dialogue. Within the framework of the energy partnership between our two countries, we want to establish the Energy Day as a central event and hold it annually in the future. This year, business and government representatives from both countries will discuss important topics, such as coal transformation, hydrogen economy, energy efficiency and renewable energies ".

In order to facilitate the exchange on different levels, the Energy Day offers various discussion panels and workshops in online format.

High-ranking speakers from both countries have announced that they will take part in the conference, including Federal Minister Peter Altmaier, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, the Ukrainian Minister of Communities and Territories Development and the Ukrainian Deputy Energy Minister.

The Energy Day is being organised on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy by the German Energy Agency (dena) in close cooperation with the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the German-Ukrainian Chamber of Industry and Commerce (AHK Ukraine).
