The TTIP Advisory Group, which was set up by Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Sigmar Gabriel, has convened for the tenth time. Chaired by State Secretary Matthias Machnig, the focus was on the current developments in CETA and TTIP. Also, the issue of investment protection was discussed at the request of the members of the group.

Dr Peter Schneiderhan, member of the board of the German Judges Association, and Prof. Dr Christian Tietje of Halle University presented their views of the latest EU proposal for investment protection, as has now been agreed in CETA.

Rupert Schlegelmilch of the European Commission updated the group on the latest developments in the negotiations.

The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy wants the TTIP Advisory Group to provide key stakeholders in all groups in society with the latest information and to involve them in the decision-making.
