BAFA
The Federal Office of Export Control and the Federal Office of Economics were merged to form the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control on 1 January 2001. The BAFA performs important administrative tasks of the Federation in the areas of foreign trade and payments, promotion of economic development and energy.
The Office's core responsibility in the area of foreign trade and payments is export control.
