Advisory Boards
The advisory boards at the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology are composed of panels of experts who advise the Federal Minister on special issues of economic policy. Memberships on these boards are honorary positions.
Accreditation advisory board
Task
The accreditation advisory board advises the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the national accreditation body on all questions related to accreditation, i.e., the determination of general and sectoral rules, promotion of the use of accreditation as a confidence building element of conformity assessment, and coordination of the German representation and position at the meetings of the European co-operation for Accreditation (EA).
In addition, the accreditation advisory board sets up sector specific expert advisory committees. In particular, their task is to support the accreditation advisory board in determining rules relevant for the respective sector.
Members
The 15 members of the accreditation advisory board have been appointed for initially three years by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
Secretariat of the accreditation advisory board
The management of the accreditation advisory board was transferred to the BAM Federal Institute for Materials Research and Testing.
