The February figure (revised downwards) had also been a rise of 2.2%. The Cabinet has adopted the draft ordinance prepared by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology assigning to the Federal Network Agency the authority to issue planning approval for high-voltage transmission lines which cross Länder and international borders (Ordinance Assigning Planning Approval Procedures). According to this, Germany's economy is looking up again in spring 2013. The report forecasts that GDP will grow at a rate of 0.8% this year (adjusted for inflation). Due to the weather, growth remains restrained in the first quarter of 2013. Overall, the economy then picks up speed in the course of the year. The initial stimulus is expected to come from private and public spending on consumption. A gradual acceleration in investment in equipment is expected, not least in response to growing foreign demand. For 2014 as a whole, the research institutes expect growth to accelerate to 1.9%.
