Survey conducted by Emnid institute confirms high satisfaction with bilateral chambers of industry and commerce
Joint press release by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi) and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK)
The research institute TNS Emnid Politik- und Sozialforschung in Bielefeld was commissioned by the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology and the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce to conduct a survey on the satisfaction with the bilateral chambers of industry and commerce. The evaluation provided by the 800 companies that were interviewed within the framework of the survey was very positive. Nine out of ten clients are happy with the work of the bilateral chambers and regard them as capable and important. 97 percent of the respondents said that they would again contact a bilateral chamber for advice.
Federal Minister of Economics and Technology Dr. Philipp Rösler stated: "Our bilateral chambers of industry and commerce are a key pillar of Germany's promotion of foreign trade and investment. This is impressively reflected by this survey. The bilateral chambers make a significant contribution to creating good opportunities for our innovative and high-quality services and goods 'Made in Germany' on the global markets."
The President of the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce, Prof. Dr. Hans Heinrich Driftmann, said: "The results of the survey conducted by Emnid show that the German bilateral chambers and the delegations and representations of industry and commerce are a major component of the development of international activities of German companies, which are one reason for the current good state of our economy."
The businesses, which were interviewed in the period November 2011 to January 2012, regard the bilateral chambers of industry and commerce in particular as main points of contact for the New Markets: 42 percent said that with the assistance of bilateral chambers they increased their exports, 39 percent were able to find new buyers and one out of five firms found new suppliers abroad.
