Minister Rösler: The HANNOVER MESSE is an impressive exhibition of forward-looking technologies

Dr. Philipp Rösler, Federal Minister of Economics and Technology, visited the HANNOVER MESSE today. On his traditional tour of the trade fair, he was joined by the VDMA President Dr. Thomas Lindner, the President of the Central Association for the German Electrical and Electronics Industry (ZVEI) Friedhelm Loh, and the Minister of Economics, Labour and Transport of the State of Lower Saxony Jörg Bode. The tour included a visit of the central stand of the partner country China.

Minister Rösler: "The HANNOVER MESSE shows clearly that our capital goods industry is developing the necessary responses to the challenges of the future with its innovative products and technologies. The products of our partner country China are providing an important stimulus to the trade fair. China is and remains one of the most important growth markets of the global economy and an attractive partner for German industry."

Prior to this, Minister Rösler and China's Minister for Industry and Information Technology MIAO Wei signed agreements on cooperation in the SME and electric mobility sectors.

Minister Rösler: "The agreements that we have signed today demonstrate the high level of importance which we attach to key issues in our bilateral relations. For example, we are fostering new forms of cooperation between the companies of our two countries."

Together with Minister MIAO Wei, Minister Rösler then opened the Sino-German Conference on Electric Mobility. The agenda of the conference put the focus on current challenges and potential solutions in implementing the ambitious goals of both countries in the field of electric mobility. Numerous German and Chinese experts from industry, science, politics and public administration attended the conference.
